Highlighting every exact match of selected text is a reading aid, not an automatic correction. Use it to see where a name or term appears, then read each context before deciding whether anything should change. The color gathers candidates; it does not establish that every candidate is wrong.
Exact text is narrower than meaning
Selecting the name “Mio” can reveal exact copies of that spelling. It will not find homophones, alternate kanji, or pronouns referring to the same person. Conversely, a match inside a quotation may need to remain unchanged.
Separate discovery from editing. First classify the locations as narration, dialogue, quotation, or another role. Only then create a repair list.
Use a three-chapter sample
Prepare three chapters with twelve exact name matches, three homophonic alternatives, and two quoted exceptions. Select one exact name and follow the colored locations from top to bottom. Record the role of each location rather than merely counting colors.
The matching-word highlight was visually checked as a way to expose multiple exact locations. The check did not rate the preferred color or claim semantic detection.
Keep the text unchanged during inspection
In Rune Studio, selecting and highlighting the term should remain an inspection step. Do not open replace-all until exceptions are listed. Edit a handful of approved locations manually; use previewed replacement only when the target rule is genuinely uniform.
After editing, select the approved spelling and read its contexts again. Search the old spelling separately, allowing for any documented quotation exceptions.
Do not rely on color alone
Theme settings, display calibration, and color-vision differences can make a highlight hard to distinguish. Pair the visual emphasis with the search panel’s count and next-match navigation. If you temporarily change Rune Studio’s colors, note the original setting and restore it when the review ends. In a shared review, identify a match by the selected term and a short line excerpt instead of saying only “the blue one.” That gives every reviewer a repeatable way to reach the same passage.
When you highlight selected matching words, compare a longer term with a shorter overlapping term before reviewing the full document.
Finish by reading, not by counting colors
The task is complete when every candidate has been classified and the intended exceptions are explained. A color count alone cannot establish consistency.
